This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Joseph Boughner who passed away on May 20, 2010. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.
  Joe was born the 9th of 11 children of James and Margaret (Cork) Boughner in St. Clair County, Michigan on July 25, 1927. His father was a farmer and he grew up knowing how to work hard.  He walked to school with his brothers and sisters. He completed 8th grade then went to work picking mint on a mint farm and his money went to help pay off his parents farm.  He went into the army and served his country in the Azore Islands during WW II.  After his honorable discharge he went to work for GM in Flint, Michigan.  He visited an old family friends house and seen the now young lady that he had know as a child and they married after she graduated from high school. He was 5 years her senior.  They married Sept. 15, 1952 in Angola, Indian.  They settled in an appartment in Flint, Michigan the first year of there marriage.  He built a home in Mount Morris, Michigan.  They lived there until 1967 when they moved into a second house he built in the Thetford township, area of Genesee County, Michigan.  They raised 5 children. Joe loved to hunt phesant, dear, partrige and to fish.  He always listed to the Detroit Tigers ball games.  He was a very handy man.  Upon retirement he started a small engine repair business in his pole barn behind their home.  He bought a small cabiin in the Lewiston, Michigan area and spent many happy times there.  He died of cancer in his home.
